Alof!i Consultancy works from the traditional and treaty lands of the Tla’amin people, on British Columbia’s South West Coast. We were founded in 2006 and since then have supported non-profit organizations and local governments across the region to increase their knowledge, effectiveness and impact.  Our work includes strategic planning, feasibility studies, social planning, applied research and project management.

Alof!i Consultancy’s unique approach is to bring together a custom team for each client. Over the years, a number of innovative and socially engaged consultants have worked on our teams, including Nola Poirier, Alison Taplay, Deb Bryant, Janette Newbury, Caitlin Bryant, April Struthers and Robbert Visscher.

Alof!I is spearheaded by Christien Kaaij (see Christien’s resume here).  Christien immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 2006 with her husband and two children. She holds a BA in Human Kinetic Technology from the University of the Hague, an MA in Community Development from the University of Victoria and a Project Management Professional designation. She is known for her ability to transform chaos into clarity, bring stakeholders together and provide innovative solutions to challenging organizational and social issues. As a recent settler on Tla’amin lands, Christien is dedicated to a journey of ongoing learning and reconciliation.
